Located in Auburn's iconic Samford Hall, the Office of Communications and Marketing is responsible for the integrity, implementation and management of the Auburn University brand. As a student worker I edited daily submissions for Auburn student and faculty notices through Cascade content management system. I also wrote feature stories and drafted press releases posted on Auburn's newsroom.
As the corporate communications intern for CMT Viacom Networks in Nashville, Tennessee, I created the red carpet tip list, helped credential media and publicists and served as a photo runner for the 2016 CMT Music Awards. I assembled bi-weekly TV highlights sent to more than 700 media personnel. I drafted press releases and media pitches as well as uploaded photos to the CMT press site. I was also responsible for compiling coverage reports following press announcements, and maintaining weekly press reports on any network-related news.
Located in Ocoee, Florida, Teak Isle Mfg. is a custom OEM manufacturer dedicated to creating quality products. With three sub-branches - Boat Outfitters, Outdoor Nativity Sets and Build a Surface - Teak Isle reaches a wide range of customers. As an intern I created and executed all PR initiatives for Boat Outfitters and Outdoor Nativity Sets. I wrote and edited blog posts and press releases, and I pre-scheduled all social media content. I utilized Photoshop to design ads and newsletters as well as photographed and edited merchandise for use on the company website and ads.
Camp Merri-Mac is a Christian summer camp for girls located in Black Mountain, North Carolina. At camp I was a cabin counselor for more than 20 10-year-old girls and taught gymnastics and canoeing classes. I was also first aid, CPR and lifeguard certified. Outside of these daily tasks, I gave tours to prospective campers and their families as well as frequently wrote articles featured on the camp blog.
